How can you become a Professional
Gardener?
To start your professional gardening company, the APG recommends three important steps:1. Build your credentials – Educational resources APG members have found beneficial include:
- The Master Gardener Program available through your county’s Michigan State University Extension office.
- Community college horticultural courses.
- Workshops and events from APG.
2. Gain experience – One of the best ways to become an experienced professional gardener is to work for an established professional for a period of time.
3. Network with Professional Gardeners – The association of Professional Gardeners provides the opportunity to network with professional gardeners. For information on upcoming meetings, visit the meetings page on this site.
The first meeting is $5.00 to non-members, so bring a friend!
